Catholic marriages

CATHOLIC MARRIAGES

A catholic wedding is a very serious, holy and permanent event. A marriage is considered to be not only a union of two people but a union of hearts, minds and souls. Marriage is a universal institution whereby men and women are joined in a special kind of dependence for the purpose of founding and maintaining a family. This is especially important in a Catholic marriage. But this is not the only reason why two people may choose to be married. They can also want to get married to show their love for one and other and also to show that their love and dedication will be forever. St. Augustine speaks of three goods that should come from a marriage in a Catholic Church children fidelity and sacramentum (that is the beauty that makes this marriage something more than just marriage.)

A priest performs the Catholic marriage ceremony. At any one time there may be 5 or 6 priests performing the wedding. The Catholic marriage ceremony is as follows;
