Catcher in the Rye

Dear Allie

How are you? It’s been a long time since the last time we talked. As I was scavenging around the basement today I came across a faint shine reflected from a rusted lock. I picked it up, and started to skim through its decaying pages covered in dust and cobwebs. Although a decade has already passed, it still played instant flashbacks of everything that occurred during those four days before that Christmas.

I guess I never really had the chance to tell you what happened, and how I felt during that time. I was on the verge of insanity. I hungered for respectability. I was such a bloody liar. I was reaching the brink of adulthood so I did what any emotionally disturbed 16 year olds would do. Maybe it was the time when teenagers realise they’re growing up and act like they’re tops but really are still kids inside. I wish you were here to guide me through the monotony of daily routines.
