Cat's Cradle satirization to bring about social reform

Kurt Vonnegut confronts many social concerns throughout Cat’s Cradle. Satire is the literal method he uses to attack human foolishness through sarcasm and humor. Vonnegut is able to portray the characters in a way that exaggerates their weaknesses to explain their feelings and address the adverse perception of social interactions. He uses different instances throughout the novel, which the immorality of science and technology, the extreme actions one will do for love, and the securities of putting oneself in false allegiance are seen. Vonnegut uses different characters to bring out these points. He satirizes Felix Hoenikker, the father of the atomic bomb, to explain the evils of science and technology. Vonnegut uses Angela Hoenikker to show mans needs for love and Hazel Crosby is a perfect example of how people place themselves in affiliation with different groups and people to give them a sense of security.
