Carver

Raymond Carver, a short fiction author, has a very distinct manner of conveying a message to the reader of his literature. His short stories, including “A Serious Talk,” “Cathedral,” “Careful,” and “Chef’s House,” portray, even in their titles, a unique way of telling a story. Carver’s stories appear to have many similarities in style of writing, in the way the message is told, and in the description of characters, as well as in the indirectly direct way of getting the reader to translate the story.
His style of writing is very casual and depicts characters that are facing problems in their lives. He does not want a hero in the story nor a low-life. He just shows a person that the reader can relate to in some fashion. All have unusual endings. For the most part, in a story, you have someone whom you idealize, and is the person who shines through.
