Carnal Knowledge

This story had many interesting turns that made me want to keep reading. The humor was the main reason for my yearning to read until the story was finished, but also the life of Alena caused me to start thinking about the truth behind animal cruelty. There were three characters, unless you count the dog as a character, in this story.
The first character and narrator of the story is named Jim. The writer provides some humorous anecdotes from Jim. Jim is an average guy, who likes average things, and has an average life in California (a place I’d love to be right now). He works for an ad agency, but is bored with his work. He takes a day off to go to the beach and meets an attractive woman, because her dog pissed on his shirt. He finds out after going to her beach house, that she is an extremely involved animal activist and a Vegan. He finds this a little amusing at first, but likes this woman, so he starts understanding what she is talk...
