Cancer is an abnormal cell growth which is unrelated to the body’s needs and is often
harmful to the body. It may come in the form of a large lump or discolouration of the
affected area. Some examples of cancer are oesophagus, stomach, colon, skin, ovary,
cervix, breast and prostate. They are all very dangerous and can lead to death if not
treated properly.

The cause of cancer is unknown. Many different causes operate and the development
of cancer may be due to a number of them acting together. Research has been done in
