NEW YORK- In a statement released yesterday by the United Nations, Canada has been determined to be the world’s leading nation in terms of a functioning society. In determining this the UN looked at how the diversity of races, cultures, and religions within a country interact and contribute to the economic and social climate therein. Seventy countries from across the globe were studied and rated in a large number of categories. Ethnic in-fighting, crime, racial equality legislation, and economic stability were just a few of the subjects examined. The committee responsible for the adjudication was made up of Nobel Peace Prize winners, international diplomats and respected journalists.
