‘Cabaret’
Question: The triangle of Max, Brian and Sally serves to illustrate three different attitudes to the world. Do you agree?

‘Cabaret’ tends to epitomize many aspects of society, and to exhibit the various unique attitudes that were present in Berlin during the years before the outbreak of World War II. Max, Sally and Brian portray three distinct temperaments quite clearly. But although they are primarily different to one another, they are all closely linked by their involvement in the moral decadence and the decay of the society.

Sally wants to live out her dream and cares only about the excitement and the stimulation that life has to offer her. She feels that life is short and that we should do all that we can, to enjoy it while it lasts. It is through this theory that Sally becomes an element of this decaying society.
