Business is business, it should not be mixed with personal stuff or feelings, you are running a business and a wrong decision based on your business ethics could affect a lot of people. It could backfire and the result could be worse.
It’s difficult to be completely business minded because you are worried that people would think worse of you. In addition, you could be friends with someone and attempt to cover up for his/her mistakes. This may not be good in the long run for everyone.
