Since President Bush initiated his re-election campaign, he has raised at least $41.4 million from May 16 to July 20, raising 50 per cent of the total raised in his campaign in the year 2000. Of the $41.4 million, $7 was raised on a Texas swing in Houston and Dallas. This gives a total of $635,000 a day since he started to raise funds.
In his fund-raises, Bush talks about the war in Iraq, the fight against terrorism and his actions to stimulate the economy, like the tax cutes made. In front of a crowd that supported him during his 2000 campaign, Bush was very relaxed and confident, since the atmosphere was totally in favor of him. Bush also discussed the things that have challenged his administration, like corporate scandals, a weak economy and terrorism.
