A Mexican man named Eddie, who dropped out of college is the main character of the book. He is currently in search of a job. At the moment, he paints addresses on curbs of homes so people won't get lost. Eddie's father, two uncles, and cousin Jesus are dead. Eddie's aunt, who is Jesus's mother is now trying to pressure Eddie into killing the man who killed Jesus. Eddie does not want to take the gun that his aunt wants him to use to kill this man, so his aunt gives it to Eddie's "homie" Angel. Angel is a gangster from the streets, and may use the gun for a bad reason.
After a long search for a job, Eddie finally finds a job with a man named Mr. Stiles. Eddie works for him for a while, and then there is a problem. Mr. Stiles lets Eddie use his truck to take some things to the dump. Eddie drops off the stuff, and then decides to go home and get washed up, so he would l...
