Budget Cuts

In recent times money has become an issue for many school systems. Unfortunately, the result to this is that some departments will face budget cuts. Some of these departments already struggle for more money. Therefore, a budget decrease will have a major effect on them. Music in many school systems is a prime example of this. Budgets should not be cut from the music department. Music is just as important as reading, writing, mathematics, and extra circular activities because it brings competition into the arts.
Many school systems are very supportive of their sports, especially the football team. When budgets are cut however, the band may not have uniforms to wear to the games, will not have music to play, will not be able to travel to the away games, and overall would not be able to attend any of the games.
