Breaker

The execution of Breaker Morant was and still is a highly controversial topic. Fighting in the vicious guerilla conflict known as the Boer war, Breaker Morant was executed for his harsh and brutal tactics. However, one most question the ethical basis for this execution. In addition, the practicality of this execution may also be disputed. It would appear that the execution of Mr. Morant was a horrible folly for the British government.
Before one begins to analyze the controversy of the execution, one must first become acquainted with the deeds of the unique individual known as Breaker Morant and the events leading up to his death. Despite popular belief, Mr. Morant was born in England, and spent more than half his life there, although after his migration to the Australian continent, he became somewhat of a celebrity among the Bushmen and a familiar poet to the residents of Sydney.
