· You see… It all started on the night of Monday, January 12, 1998. Michelle and Marty McInnerney arrived at the Olympic Memorial Hospital in Port Angeles, Washington with their unconscious, three-day old baby boy, Connor McInnerney.
· At 9:54 p.m., a well-known paediatrician, Dr. Eugene Turner, pronounced Connor dead.
· BUT THEN… At around 10:15 p.m., an emergency room nurse, Laurie Boucher, witnessed Connor gasping for air even though he was pronounced dead twenty minutes ago.
· Dr. Turner returned with not much hope for the infant; he believed that Connor was already brain-dead, because gasping for air doesn’t really mean much. It doesn’t necessarily indicate life.
· Shortly before midnight, the usual night emergency nurse, Vicki Hallberg-Gross, witnessed Dr. Turner suffocating the infant.
· Vicki informed her superiors and soon, police interrogations began.
· Turner was taken to court where he pleaded not guilty.
