Book of Job

From the Hebrew Bible (Job 1; 2; 3:1-5, 17-21; 13:28; 14; 38: 1-18; 42: 1-6) The Book of Job


Job was an honest, obedient servant of God. He was a wealthy man with many animals and many servants. The Book of Job was probably written between (586-538 B.C.E.) after the Babylonian Captivity. These were the years that the Hebrews were exiled from Jerusalem. In 2000 B.C.E. the Hittites brought iron weapons and horse drawn war chariots to the east. With the use of iron weapons, King Nebuchadnezzar's army had no problems taking over Judah.
