Blessings in Disguise
I believe the saying, “all things happen for a reason.” I also believe the reason that some unfortunate things happen is so that you can appreciate the good things that you would have otherwise overlooked. I remember something that happened to me a couple of years ago. I had left my purse in a shopping cart at the Wal-mart parking lot. I was devastated. At the time it felt like the end of the world. I really felt stupid, and I couldn’t blame anyone but myself.
My daughter-in-law and I had been grocery shopping. When we got back to the truck, there were two young men sitting on the ground in front of the car beside us. They seemed to be having car trouble. They made me nervous as I unloaded my groceries because they were staring at us. I hurried and put the groceries in the back of the truck and left the parking lot.
When I got home, I realized that I didn’t have my purse. I knew I must have left it in the basket. I called the store and asked...
