A bit of rock history.
Blake Babies, one of the most influential bands of the last fifteen years, were born in the second half of the ‘80s, first as a quartet and then as a trio, with Freda Boner on drums, John Strohm on voice and guitar and Juliana Hatfield on voice, bass and guitar. At the time they were in their late teenage years.
Blake Babies’ area is what was going to become college rock (which they were actually contributing to build): folk lines in the style of early REM, tiny melodies, distorsions a la Pixies and Dinosaur Jr.
