Chapter 20: Human Reproduction
1. The stages of the menstrual cycle are the egg developing inside the ovary then ovulation, and then menstruation.
2. Eggs are produced one at a time by two ovaries in the woman’s body while men produce hundreds of millions of sperm. Out of all the sperm produced only one will mature and fertilize the egg.
3. A female can become pregnant during her menstrual cycle when it is 24-48 hours after the egg is released from the oviduct.
4. Semen is made of a series of sex glands’ fluid and mixture of sperm.
5. The advantage of so many sperms is that there will always be one that will make it all the way.
