A) Scientists responsible for the cell theory:
1. Anton van Leeuwenhoek- scientist responsible for developing the first microscope.
2. Robert Hooke- scientist that observed non living cells under the microscope and called them cells.(cells in a monastery)
3. Matthias Schleiden- stated that all plants are made of cells
4. Theodor Schwann- discovered that all animals are made of cells too.
5. Rudolf Virchow- stated that cell arise from the division of preexisting cells.
B) Cell theory - forms the basic framework in which biologists have tried to understand living things.States:
1.All living thinks are composed of cells.
2.Cells are the basic units of structure and function in living things
3.All cells come from preexisting cells.
