Bill Clinton William Jefferson Clinton, commonly known as Bill Clinton, was born in 1946 and was the 46th president of the United States from 1993-2003. He graduated from Georgetown University, attended Oxford University and received a law degree from Yale University. His profession as a lawyer led to his political career. In 1974, Clinton became a Democratic leader in the U.S. House of Representatives, but was not very successful. In 1976 he was elected Arkansas’s attorney general, and also won the Arkansas governorship, making him the youngest governor at that time.
