Better Late Than Never

 Better late than never!

“Mom, am I going to get to go to scouts today?” “I like scouts, we get to do lot’s of fun stuff and my friends go there too. I remember when we went to that scouting thing, and I got to make my very own tool box.”
“Yes, but I’m afraid you might be a little late. We still have to pick up your brother.” Mikee and his brother Landon are very different.
“Gee Mom, hey, I learned a new trick, I can make a magic trick, I can make this thing jump from one finger to the other. Can you tie this for me, can you tie this Mom?”
“Mikee, please, what did you say?”
I’d just finished a long, hard day of work at the office, and had stopped off to check the mail at the Post Office before arriving at the Mikee’s school to pick him up. I was much too weary to think about adding something else to my list, let alone getting anywhere on time.
