Beowulf

The Anglo-Saxon period dates to the year 449 in English literature. One famous piece of literature that still exist from the period if the epic poem Beowulf. This piece of literature uses traditional elements associated with heroic literature all over the world. The poem has an anonymous author; however it still gives us facts and clues of life dated back to the Anglo-Saxon period. The oral told poem in which tells a story of the great Geat, Beowulf, and his adventure across the sea to rescue King Hrothgar from the monster Grendel. Beowulf and Grendel are two characters, which play two vital roles in this epic poem Beowulf.
Beowulf was son of Edgetho and the nephew of the King of Geats. Beowulf plays a strong role in which he’s a very self-centered Geat, who fears nothing. After hearing of King Hrothgar’s captivity.
