Believers Baptism

In the Early Church Baptism in water was to confirm publicly a person’s response of sin.
(Acts 2v41) “Then they that gladly received his word were baptized and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls”.
(Acts 8v38) “And he commanded the chariot to stand still and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch and he baptized him”.
These witness the genuiness of the spiritually regenerate life of the believer.
(1Peter 3v21) “The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (nor the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ”.
The service began with an opening hymn “Lord I have promised to serve you to the end” this hymn relates to the candidates own faith. The hymn was then followed by a prayer of thanks given to God for the candidate’s salvation and desire to profess their faith publicly by being bapt...
