Basic overview on Brain Cancer

BRAIN TUMORS / BRAIN CANCER
Each year over 17 000 people in the US finds out that they have brain tumors. Brain Tumors are one aspect of medical science that researchers struggle with, this because the brain is a difficult area to work on and the fact that it is dangerous to do surgery on the brain because of its vital function.
The brain and the spinal cords form the central nervous system. This system is vital to all the functions of the body – walking, talking, breathing, hearing, touching, smelling, emotions a.s.o. The brain is a mass of nerve cells and tissue and it has three major parts: The Cerebrum, Cerebellum and the Brain Stem. Each part has special functions, but they all work together.
CAUSES
Even though a lot of research is done on the area, scientists do not yet know what the causes of brain tumors are. Scientists have found out that there are two age groups where brain tumors occur more frequently than in others, those age groups are 3-12 years old and 40-70 years ...
