Backpack problems, who's to blame?
"Ouch! My back hurts!" Many children across the United States have had many back and neck problems. This isn't due to extensive labor, but overweight backpacks. Half of the backpacks that are owned by children grades kindergarten to Eighth are over the limit. The children who carry overweight backpacks are most likely to develop herniated disc and osteoarthritis later in their life.
Heavy backpacks are caused by too many items that are carried in the bag. With forty million students owning, there is about twenty million students with overweight backpacks. Many serious injuries are being caused by the backpacks. The children and teachers need to get educated with the proper way to use a backpack.
Today, actions are being made to prevent the neck and back problems. Hard cover books are being replaced by the lighter paperback books. Still the Consumer Products Safety Commission estimates that 4,928 emergency room visits each year res...
