Babies

An extra hour to sleep in and six hours to spend doing something I thought would be a breeze, helping to take care of six month old quadruplets. I spent two weeks of my junior year helping a mother struggle thru each day with her newborns. “I’ll be fine mom, it’ll be easy. We were, after all, made to do this.” I said as I strolled out the door.
I spent years envisioning how it would be to have a baby of my own. For me that day could never come soon enough. After all babies are not anything but adorable. After numerous evenings babysitting for both my friend’s and family’s newborns I thought I could not have been more prepared when I first walked into the quadruplet’s nursery. I was beyond incorrect. Nothing could have prepared me for what I encountered that first day at my Junior Apostolic service site.
