The father of Wilbur and Orville Wright was a minister of the United Brethren Church, the Reverend Milton Wright (Rowland-Entwistle 6). Milton went to a small college at Hartsville, Indiana to study ministry (Rowland -Entwistle 6). He was given a license to preach in 1846 when he was only 18 years old, but he decided to spend some time teaching before taking up his duties as a preacher (Rowland -Entwistle 6).
