Automobiles and Air Pollution Issues

The automobile industry does abuse environmental standards. Automobiles emit harmful gases, in which some are deadly. Some standards the automobile industry has trouble with are: Harmful pollutants, automobile maintenance, and controlling automobile emitions.

Automobiles emit harmful pollutants that are harming humans and the environment. Automobiles and other motor vehicles emit Carbon Monoxide, hydrocarbons, oxides of nitrogen, and small amounts of lead, oxides of sulfur, and particulate matter. Many of these gases are harmful to humans. Pollutants such as Carbon Monoxide and nitrogen dioxide and lead are all toxic to humans. Some oxidants are known to be harmful to the lungs and also increase the intensity of emphysema, which is the most rapidly increasing cause of death in this country.
