Athletes and Drugs

For athletes who succeed in professional sports, illegal drugs often become part of their lifestyle. However, these drugs can cause the downfall of these athletes. Many of these athletes take illegal drugs because it fits in with their recreational lifestyle, the athletes can afford them, and they are readily available. They don’t realize that this behavior can cause suspensions and even death.

Many athletes experiment with illegal drugs for different reasons, and some of these drugs such as cocaine, marijuana, methyl amphetamines, and amphetamines are banned from all professional sports. These drugs are often taken by athletes because of the psychological “high” they can produce. Some athletes clamor for the feeling of euphoria these drugs can provide.
