Mix 10.35g oil of wintergreen, 20.69g sodium hydroxide and 103.5 cm3 of water in a 250cm3 conical flask. II. Drop in a few anti-bump granules, attach a reflux condenser to the flask, and boil gently using a Microburner (or heating mantle) for 20 minutes. III. When the flask has cooled pour the contents into a conical flask surrounded by crushed ice in a large beaker. IV.
