An aunt of mine is one of the best cooks that I personally know. She has shown me how to make countless meals and each meal has been tastier than the last. Something that she has said in the past to me that has stuck with me is this: “A good meal will get you far”. I am going to describe how to make a meal that would impress even the harshest critics. It consists of watercress sesame salad, roast pork loin with beer sauce, and tapioca pudding parfaits.
First is the watercress sesame salad. Begin by separating the leaves from the course stems of one bunch of watercress. Next, lightly toast one tablespoon of sesame seeds in a pan. Mix together one and a half teaspoons of white-wine vinegar, one and a half tablespoons of vegetable oil, a quarter of a teaspoon of Asian sesame oil, and salt and pepper to taste. This is your dressing. The salad now only needs to be put together, so drizzle the dressing on the watercress leaves and sprinkle the toasted sesame seeds on top of that. T...
