In Arthur Miller´s most famous novel the subject of the American Dream is one of the most important ones. The American Dream or else wise the wrong interpretation of the American Dream is the reason for Willy´s failure. He believes that in America one only needs to be well liked in order to succeed not only in business but in life as well. Unfortunately, Willy is not well liked. He neither succeeds in business nor in his private life as his son Biff discovers his affaire and therefore does not look up to his father anymore but instead calls him a fake.
