Are Real California Cheese commercials causing cows to be mistreated?

Picture long rolling green hills with trees dotted all over providing nice cool shade. A mother cow and her calf drink lazily from a crystal clear lake. To their left, dozens of other “happy cows” relax in the sun. To their right, welcoming barns filled with hay are inviting them for when the night calls them to fall asleep. This is the serene and calm depiction of the life of the cows on the Real California Cheese farms that are represented in the commercials for the company. Wouldn’t that be nice? The motto of Real California Cheese is, “Great cheese comes from happy cows. Happy cows come from California.” What if these cows aren’t really happy? What if their being mistreated? If people were bombarded with commercials showing the suffering that these cows are actually enduring then they might not be so quick to buy Real California Cheese. If people stopped buying the company’s cheese because of the treatment of the cows then the company might rethink how the cows live. ...
