Archaeology, Upper Palaeolithic

The first study of Upper Palaeolithic began in south-west France. The Upper Palaeolithic was a period of great diversity and technological innovation. Stone tools in this period increased its efficiency and life expectancy of tool. Archaeologists discovered a distinguishable series of changes in the Upper Palaeolithic in terms of three basic archaeological attributes, stylistic, form and technology. These changes in five sequences tell us about changes in culture and technological reference within a few thousand years.
Archaeologists divided the Upper Palaeolithic into five sequences. There five sequences are Chatelperronian, Aurignian, Gravettian, Solutrean, Magdalenian.
