The very first impression I had with the movie was the opening sequence with the helicopters and The Doors playing in the background. First thing that comes to my mind when I hear The Doors in a movie is that this is not going to be a normal movie. The first scene with him in the hotel going crazy was kind of confusing. I really didn’t know if that was suppose to be some meaning full scene but I just saw him as drunk and crazy from the war.
When they called him in to tell him his mission to kill captain Kirk, which seemed to me as a really bad move on his part, he was basically committing suicide. Going into the jungle away with four other soldier...
