Anxiety Disorders in Iceland

Anxiety with Panic Disorder Linked to Chromosome 9q in Iceland

A new study of the Icelandic population based on the genealogical record database and the relation homogeneity gives the location of genes that can predispose to anxiety with Panic Disorder, especially chromosome 9q. Anxiety disorders, accompanied by depression, panic attacks (such as upset, fear, sadness). They cause major concerns in healthcare worldwide. Anxiety disorders are found to be common among females, and they are about 15 to 18 percent prevalence in total lifetime.

Due to the complexity of etiology of anxiety disorders, the field of genetics is used for analyzing etiological factors of anxiety disorders as wells the environmental factors.
