“Antz” may just be your typical kids movie, but in actual fact it deals with many real life issues for example individualism and human rights, or ant rights. But on the other hand some reasons that children may enjoy the film are that there is lots action and adventure and also the fact that the characters are ants make children more interested in the film.

In the movie, the main character Z a humble worker ant tries to find his individuality within the colony. Whilst in a bar Z says to princess Bala “mindless zombies copulating to an oppressive system” as he watches everyone in the bar dance at the same time to the same beat the same way. It is then that Z realises that he hasn’t made any decisions his whole life and has just been a follower. Throughout the film Z finds Insectopia a place were you “can be your own ant” Z discovers that he doesn’t have to follow orders all his life he can actually be his own ant. In the end Z is happy with his new life ...
