Antigone

Hollywood has over-dramatized, under-dramatized, and just plain mutilated many famous and legendary plays and literature. Hollywood has also made excellent film versions of these infamous pieces of literature and plays. The public seems very fond of these timeless plots and archetype characters. If Hollywood was to make a film version of Antigone many people might be interested in seeing how this classic plot of violence and incest plays out on the big screen.

The America public seems like they are completely ready for the violence of this classic play; as they have praised films like Gladiator and The Patriot. However I am not quite sure if they are ready for the tremendous amount of incest in this play. Many people may get uncomfortable during these scenes of the movie; although the movie critics may see it as something new and out-going. The viewing audience of this movie must be mature and respect the play.
