Another Man’s Wife

“The Storm,” by Kate Chopin, is a story about a married woman whose husband and child are kept from home by a horrible storm. While alone, Calixta’s old flame, Alcee, stops by, and asks, “May I come and wait on your gallery till the storm is over?” (207) Calixta gives into her temptations, and disregards the vows she took with her husband.
