Animal Testing

This issue of animal testing is extremely controversial. This matter can cause many ethical and moral concerns. Good points can be shown from those that oppose animal testing and those for it. I don’t believe the issue is either black or white.
It is estimated that about 40 million rats and mice are used in experiments each year. This isn’t including other species involved in several different researches. The numbers are quite high and could be decreased if only the crucial tests were performed. The essential studies are those that examine medical advances and certain psychological advances.
It’s not acceptable to do several unnecessary tests. Tests for cosmetics could be avoided. Also, testing the effects of a chemical on a species is pointless if you already know that the chemical is harmful. Outcomes of a test are going to be different for a dog or ape as opposed to a human.
