Animal Farm , theme In the novel “Animal Farm” written George Orwell an important idea is that “power corrupts”. In this essay I will cover the following: dangers of a totalitarian government, how propaganda is used by one of the characters and revolution seldom achieves what it intends. This novel can be read in two different ways both with a moral presentation or a political understanding relating to the “Russia Revolutions” (1917). An important idea in this novel is that there are dangers of a totalitarian form of government. This is when a community is imposed and characterized by the government to have complete control over all aspects of life. The animals were tired of being ruled by Mr Jones. Old major who started the “Rebellion” said “let us face it, our lives are miserable, laborious and short”. His dream, which was passed on to the animals in the farm, was to take over ...
