Animal Farm Review

For the book review this semester, I read the book Animal Farm written by George Orwell. It is a short book, written as an allegory about the Soviet Russians. Although the story is told as a form of fairy tale, with unrealistic characters and plot, the message of the story is very plain for the reader to see.
The story is set on a farm in England. Almost the entire action of this story takes place on the farm. The story of the farm is very sad. All the animals that live on the farm are treated cruelly, made to work for long hours, give up their produce, and eat less so that the farmer can obtain more profit. Only one animal, an old pig knows that this is not how life has to be. He knows that a better life could exist for them, and that is was possible to obtain such a life. He shares this secret with the other animals just before he dies. His speech incites a revolution.
