AND NOW YOU DON'T

“Now you Don’t”
In an interview in 1999 with “Newshour”, Tom Stoppard talked about theatre and how he feels that you should be ambushed by the experience of it. He said, “You’re being ambushed by an unexpected word, or by an elephant falling out of the cupboard, what ever it is.” This version of “Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are dead”, directed by Aaron Posner was very well done and the actors Ian Peakes and Scott Greer did an extremely good job in depicting the craziness and confusion exuded by the two characters. The play did not verbally ambush me because practically all of Stoppard’s lines were kept in the production. However the remaining aspects of the play such as, the stage and set design, the actors and their expressions, and additional aspects like the music and lighting managed to keep me on the edge of my seat, waiting to see what happened next. In many ways this play was able to surprise me in a new and unique way throughout the entire show.
