Analasis of The Apology and The Republic

The Apology is the first of three dialogues on the trial and death of

Socrates. Socrates believes that no man is wiser than he is. However Socrates

still believes that he himself is not wise. At frist Socrates doubts the orical and

sets out to find a man who is wiser than he is. After surching for a while Socrates

finds a man whom many believe is wise and he himself thinks he is wise but

Socrates reveals that this man is not wise and this then leads to the hatred of

Socrates. Socrates believes that a man who is truely wise knows that he is

ignorant. Soon after all of Athens become to hate Socrates and he is given the

death penalty. If he had been willing to copromise and to stop teaching his

phlosophy he may have been able to live. He thought he had to keep up with

his teachings, he thought that God had sent him to earth to teach men who

were not as wise as himself. Socrates believed that to stop his teachings whould
