An Inspector Calls

The main theme of “An Inspector Calls” written by J.B Priestley is summarised by ‘Inspector Goole’,
“One Eva Smith has gone- but there are millions and millions and millions of Eva Smith’s and John Smith’s still left with us, with their lives, their hopes and fears, their suffering and chance of happiness all intertwining with our lives, with what we say and do. We don’t live alone”.
That one-quotation express everything Priestley is trying to say; to care for ourselves we have to care for others. Our actions do not just have an affect on us; they have an affect on others as well. Everybody has a social responsibility to show compassion for others. I believe with this to a certain extent. I do believe in caring for others who have been subjected to unfortunate circumstances. But I do not believe in caring for criminals because they have acted without thought for others.
