An Experience in my Life

My parents got divorced when I was in elventh grade. My brothers were fourteen and eleven and I was sixteen. Even though the mess ended two years ago, it was long before then that I began. On the day of my fourteenth birthday, my parents announced their divorce. They sat us all in the family room and said we needed to talk. I had a million things running through my head, since two days before this my mom announced she had breast cancer. Was she going to die? Have surgery? Or were we just going to get in trouble for not cleaning our rooms? Whatever it was was important because my brothers were called home from their friend’s houses. As I sat on the chair waiting for my brothers, I could hear my parents whispering in the kitchen, until Tommy and Nicholas came storming through the door mad about their interrupted playtime.
