An essay on eating disorder

Childhood for me was a carefree journey that started even before my memory began, until I reached the tender yet destructive age of 13. I had made this grave decision that destructed our lives. I was diagnosed with an eating disorder Anorexia where I would voluntarily starve myself. The foolish disregard of consequences disrupted the peace and ambiance of a normal, healthy life.
Our society worships wafish, perfect skinned models. Advertisements and television shows convince us that staying slim is creating a model like glam world for oneself.
It started off with an innocent diet that led to skipping meals. I enrolled myself in aerobic classes, overdoing it by going twice a day everyday of the week. Despite my cheerful demeanor I was aware of the tragic thread that ran through life, the mirror responded in a cruel manner and the only question in my mind was "do I look fat"?
