Americans found themselves striving to unify the nation, and healing the wounds of war. Americans also proceeded to put effort into business interests, military interests, and religious convictions. These three sources of pressure are just a few of the many that pushed America into imperialsim. The business aspect of America's imperialism was based on the fact of overproduction which underscored the need for new, overseas markets. Also, as industry expanded, new sources of raw materials were needed. This caused Americans to increasingly look to Latin America for trade. As for Ame...
