Today large-scale business operations have been on the rise since the late 1800’s and are continuing to grow. When the United States entered the second stage of industrialization, which was powered by a great technological change, the working force also changed. During the late 1800s, the United States had the great experience to see businesses thrive by gaining an increase in profits and efficiency. The United States has greatly benefited from the big businesses taking charge, however some people have different opinions. Now, since the United States has entered into the twentieth century, it has to decide whether the rise of the big business is beneficial to all in society. From the view of the big businessmen, it is evident that they have benefited in a great many ways. However, are they getting their benefits at the expense of the smaller businesses, factory workers, and the consumers?
