America in the Eyes of Twain


The novel Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain embodies what America was in the

1800’s. Twain to me shows the stereotypical American life. The wonder, excitement and

freewill of a young America opened up for all to read.

Twain shows how adventure and wonder are still a big part in children’s life unlike

today with the media and such corrupting the youth and making them grow up faster. Jim

and Huck are talking under the night sky and debating how the stars came to be “We had

had the sky up there, all speckled with stars, and we used to lay on our backs and look up

at them, and discuss about whether they was made to only just happened. Jim allowed they
